The following terms apply to all orders. Please read all terms prior to placing your order.

The website is pretty much maintained in regards to what is in stock.  E-mail me with the items you are interested in buying and I will confirm availability and price. Quantities are limited, so prices and availability are subject to change.  When sending an email in regards to placing an order, I will need the following information:

• Your Name for the shipping label
• Shipping address with zip code
• Rough estimate of what you are wanting... this can be changed prior to payment
• Phone number for the shipping label - Required by shipping company
• How you'd like to make payment - Paypal, Visa/MasterCard (by phone) or money order

Providing this information from the beginning will speed up the process considerably as it is all required in order to ship your box to you.  I will respond with a total and we can set up shipping from there.  Shipping is available to addresses in the U.S. only.

Live arrival is guaranteed with next day shipping.  USPS Express is now the preferred method of shipping and live arrival is guaranteed on any shipment in which overnight shipping is available.  USPS Express Mail delivery is available for $20 to $25 and overnight via DHL generally runs $30 to $35.  If you have a problem with a delivery, you will need to contact me.  DO NOT CONTACT THE SHIPPING COMPANY.  Half of the employees working for the shipping companies do not know what is allowed and what isn't and as soon as some arachnophobe hears what you are receiving, I'll have to spend the next four hours on the phone getting all of my approvals lined out again.  Heat packs and insulated boxes are standard with cold weather shipping. Shipments go out primarily on Mondays only.  Shipping on alternate days may be available on occasions.  I reserve the right to hold shipments for suitable weather. I will contact you prior to shipping if shipping is delayed from our original arrangement.

Payment can be made via PayPal, Visa/MasterCard (by phone) or money order.   Orders can be shipped immediately (weather permitting) with payment via PayPal and credit card or receipt of the money order.  There is a processing fee of 3% + $0.30 for each order.  The processing fee will be waived for orders paid in cash or money order.  All credit card orders must be finalized by phone.  DO NOT send your credit card information via e-mail... e-mails are not secure.   You can call me at 913-254-7732 to finalize your credit card transaction or leave a message and I will call you back.   Speak loudly and slowly when leaving a message... a message I can't understand does neither of us any good.   When your box goes out you will receive an e-mail from the shipping company with the tracking number.  An invoice with the breakdown of your charges and the livestock will be included in the box.

The buyer is responsible for familiarizing yourself with and complying with any local, state, and federal wildlife laws. The buyer agrees not to hold Botar by Eights responsible for any harm that results from the buyer's purchase and keeping of invertebrates. The buyer should know the care requirements of the specific species being purchased prior to making an order. Sizes are approximate and are based on the distance from the tip of Leg I (front leg) to the tip of Leg IV (back leg) on the same side on spiders. On scorpions, centipedes and millipedes, sizes are overall length from head to tail.

Sexing of stock:  If you've read this far already, you've probably noticed I don't have a lot of sexed stock for sale.  The reason is I maintain a huge inventory and simply don't have the time to sex stock.  I know your friend's cousin Jim-Bob may be able to sex a P. irminia at 1.5" with a microscope in one hand and a beer in the other while wearing an aluminum foil hat, but I don't have the time or equipment to do so... although I do wear the aluminum foil hat from time to time to keep the aliens from reading my thoughts.  Sexed females typically sell for 3 to 5 times as much as unsexed stock.  So I keep the prices low and you get a  50/50 chance on the sex.  I rarely have sexed females for sale, so it stands to reason that I'm not  a dealer that dumps males off on customers either.  It isn't so much a choice on policy as much as just a necessity based on the number of hours in a day.

Live arrival guarantee: with next day delivery, live arrival is guaranteed unless stipulated in advance.   Botar by Eights is not responsible for shipments left outside unattended by the shipping company.  If delivery is to a residence, you will need to watch for the delivery person or post a note for them to ring the doorbell... or both.  Your pets will not survive if left outside in the heat or cold.    Refunds cover the cost of the animal and do not include shipping costs. If the animal is a freebie or a prize, no refunds or substitutions will be made.  Shipping charges are not covered.  All claims for DOA's must be made the day the box arrives and the deceased animal must be returned to Botar by Eights prior to payment of any refund.  Refunds are made in the form of reshipping the DOA invertebrate (shipping charges are not included) or crediting the loss towards the purchase of other goods.    DOA's are seldom, but they do occur from time to time.
